Rapper: Jay-Z

After years of using the B-word freely within his rap songs, rapper Jay-Z decides to put it at rest...for the sake of his newborn daughter Blue Ivy. The rapper states so in a letter addressed to the new addition to his family:
Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich, I didn’t think hard about using the word B—-. I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it. I never realized while on the fast track that I’d give riddance to the word bitch, to leave her innocence in tact. No man will degrade her, or call her out her name the women won’t despise her and call her the same. I know it’s gonna miss me cuz we been together like Nike Airs and crisp tees when we all used to hang out front singing 99 problems but a lady ain’t one. Excuse me miss, can I be your mister cuz I can tell the difference from a little girl and a sister, She never grew up, her father left her alone I promise not to talk like we used to until Kingdom Come. I’m so focused on your future, The degradation has passed I wish you wealth, health, and insight forever young you may pass. Blue Ivy Carter, my angel.

Flavor Flav

The renowed rapper Flavor Flav and his fiancée Liz will appear on ABC's hit show "Celebrity Wife Swap". The episode featuring the duo will air on Tuesday, January 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET). Here's a brief summary of what you will see on January 10th:
Legendary hype man Flavor Flav, his fiancée of nine years, Liz, and sons Gibran (15) and Karma (4), live in a gated community in Las Vegas, but that’s where the “normal” part of their lives ends. When he’s not touring with Public Enemy, Flav regularly spends his time with his friends at the bowling alley. The easygoing Liz usually sits at home alone, tranquilly crocheting and reading self-help books while her mother looks after the baby -- or she goes out gambling, her favorite pastime. Dee, who is perhaps best known as the lead singer of ‘80s sensation Twisted Sister, and his wife of 22 years, Suzette, met in high school. They are very much the hands-on parents to Jess (29), Shane (22), Cody (21) and Cheyenne (14). When the quiet-loving Liz travels to Long Island to swap lives with Suzette, she almost loses her mind when Cheyenne’s post-hardcore band rehearses in the house. She is also taken aback when she realizes how little Dee and the kids help with the household in comparison with Suzette’s daily routine, which includes all of the cooking, cleaning and even styling her sons’ Mohawks every day. But that’s little to compare with the gravity defying and nerve-wracking experience Suzette is having with Flav back in Vegas. Suzette, who calls raising her children her “career,” becomes irritated when she sees Flav constantly on the phone and hanging out at the bowling alley with his friends. Flav keeps leaving Suzette with the kids alone or calling his sister-in-law to care for the baby. He often goes out for extended periods of time without informing Suzette of his whereabouts. As a result, he misses the scheduled plans she’s made for him and the family. When it comes time for Suzette to institute her own set of house rules, she discovers that Flav is not one to easily bide by someone else’s rules.

Singer: Sinead O'Connor

After 18 days of marriage, singer Sinead O'Connor announced that she's divorcing her new husband in a personal note posted on her official website:
"Dear friends, I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts. So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight." "Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behaviour of certain people in my husband's life. And also by a bit of a wild ride i took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don't drink.” "My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage. It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear. A woman wants to be a joy to her husband. So.. U love someone? Set them free." "He is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I'm sorry I'm not a more regular woman. I truly believe though it is painful to admit, we made a mistake rushing into getting married, for altruistic reasons, and weren't aware or prepared for the consequences on my husband's life and the lives of those close to him. He has been terribly unhappy and I have therefore ended the marriage. I think he is too nice to do so. And too nice to trap."
