R.I.P Muddy Waters




Legendary piano player Joe Willie “Pinetop” Perkins passed away from cardiac arrest Monday at his home in North Austin. Perkins was 97 years old.

  1. Huh? Are you suggesting Muddy took his identity? OR...just a mistake with the title?

  2. As legend has it, Pinetop was actually called Muddy Waters before "Muddy Waters" took on the stage name.

    In other words, Pinetop was the original Muddy Waters who later became a legendary blues piano player and the other Muddy Waters Sideman.

    Offstage, everyone called Pinetop "Muddy Waters".
