Celebrity Owned Hotels:

U2 frontman Bono and guitarist The Edge own The Clarence in Dublin, which is a gathering spot for hipsters. The hotel is running a winter special with rooms for under $150.

Donatella Versace’s Palazzo Versace, the designer’s lavish resort near Brisbane, Australia, is over-the-top luxurious, with a vast main pool, a spa, a marina and a conference center.

In Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif., the small Cypress Inn, co-owned by actress Doris Day, is famed for its pet-friendly policies. Of course: Day is also a noted animal lover.

The Godfather director's original resort, the Blancaneaux Lodge, is inland in Belize, near rain forests and hiking. Guests stay in individual cottages and can even rent the director's villa.

Musical duo Gloria and Emilio Estefan own two Florida hotels, the Cardozo in Miami Beach and the Costa d'Este Beach Resort farther north in Vero Beach. Rooms can cost a reasonable $150 this time of year, and sleek pool loungers and mojito receptions show the couple's attention to hospitality detail.
