Are you aware of this? Celebrities are being paid to "tweet"!
Well, according to a recent survey, Kim Kardashian has become the higest paid celebrity who "tweets".
It's being reported that the reality TV star is earning around $10,000 per "tweet". Her named was pulled from a poll compiled by Ad.ly.
Ad.ly is a online service that allows celebrities and well known bloggers the chance to "monetise" their tweets.
Kim Kardashian, Soulja Boy and many other celebrities are in agreement to arrange endorsements through the Ad.ly company and then they post these products or promote television shows directly to their followers.
Sounds easy right? Well, there's a catch:
A new regulation requires people to disclose whether a blog post or social media post was influenced by any kind of cash incentive—violators could face fines up to $11,000. Tweets arranged through Ad.ly all include language indicating that the communication is an ad."
If a celebrity decide to go through some other source, or tweet for cash under the table, the failure to disclose these transactions violates laws set by the Federal Trade Commission.
