Black History

“Today, the black man in America is beginning to learn the secret of success. He is at the point where he can stand on his own two feet and look at himself and say, “I’m black. My people were black. My peoples’ people were black. Some of my ancestors were slaves. Some of my ancestors were chiefs. Some of my ancestors were great, some were thieves. My people did what they had to do. I am not ashamed of my black ancestors. I’m not ashamed of my color. I’m not ashamed of myself…” --- Borrowed from a editorial piece entitled "The Unity of Blackness" written in the August 1969 issue of Ebony Magazine.
