Beyonce Knowles:

January 2009 slash December 2009

...Is under fire.

According to recent reports:

American pop star Beyonce Knowles seems unable to remove herself from the Middle Eastern spotlight. The most recent incident was a private concert she gave for Libyan leader Colonel Muamar Gaddafi’s son Muatassim on New Year’s Eve. The private party has sparked some criticism for her performance.

According to reports, the private party took place at a nightclub on the island of St. Barts in the Caribbean and allegedly the American superstar was paid some $2 million for her appearance at the club, which also saw Usher, Lindsay Lohan and the young Gaddafi.

Speaking on CNN, Marc Lamont Hill, a Columbia University media professor, said “Beyonce’s handlers usually make really good decisions about where she’s going to perform.”

Her performance comes only months after much anger and frustration manifested itself in Egypt during her concert in the North African nation. Conservative Islamists condemned the performance, calling it a “sex party” and one that should not have been held. Despite the criticism, the concert went ahead in the Red Sea resort of Port Ghalib for some 20,000 fans, many of whom spent hundreds of dollars to see the American diva.

“So it seems to me that someone was asleep at the wheel, or the money was so overwhelming that they said: “Screw the public image, we’re going to take the cash,” added the professor.

Meanwhile, the dictator's son is still out searching for blondes and creating sex parties as he continue to celebrate the New Year....

  1. She's a idiot. Now she's talking about taking a break.

  2. Beyonce's New Year's resolution is at once ambitious and surprising. The multitasking superstar, who was seemingly everywhere in 2009, hopes to spend a good chunk of 2010 not working.
"It's definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries," says Beyoncé, 28. "I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again."

  5. She hold on responsibilities in the decisions that she make. Her image had failed.

How can you start the year off like this and end up in St. Bart performing for the leader of Libyan?

  7. BEYONCE bagged £1MILLION to perform at a party thrown by a dictator's son.
And here are the pics to prove it.

She pointed to her wedding ring while performing Single Ladies and put in some energetic moves at the New Year's Eve gig for Libyan leader COLONEL GADDAFI's jet-setting playboy son MUATSIM.

With deals like that, no wonder the Bootylicious one and hubby JAY-Z earned £68million for the year to July 2009.

  8. Mystery behind Beyonce's '2m dlrs performance' deepens
    New York | February 06, 2010 5:22:50 PM IST

The mystery surrounding the benefactor who reportedly paid Beyonce 2 million dollars for a New York performance continues.

The R andB lady was said to have performed at a Nikki Beach bash in St. Barts, attended by Jay-Z, Jon Bon Jovi, Usher and the Libyan leader's bachelor son, Mutassim Billah Khadafy.

Khadafy, who was snapped with his hair slicked back at the party, denied funding the event, reports the New York Post.

Sources claimed Malta-based financier Joseph Sammut wired 185,000-dollar payment to Nikki Beach for the bash. (ANI)
