On to the next one...
In his latest video clip for the song "On to the Next One", rapper Jay-Z has picked the new 2011 Jaguar XJ as his personal ride.
ReplyDeleteConsidering rappers have long been known to pimp out their videos with auto exotica, it’s not surprising to see Jay-Z pick the XJ this time around. The suave British sedan oozes sophistication and the fact that it isn’t even on sale yet makes it all the more exclusive.
Jay-Z’s decision to pick the new XJ is also beneficial for Jaguar. "Jay-Z is an icon who has blazed an unprecedented path through music, fashion, business and sports; making his video the absolutely right vehicle for the all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ to make its global entertainment industry debut," said Mike O' Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars. "Just as the concept of the video speaks to success and the birth of new ideas, all-new XJ is a breakthrough luxury automobile that we designed to elevate the luxury car experience and create a new automotive icon for style and indulgence."
Jay-Z fans and auto enthusiasts will be able to log onto www.InteractiveJaguar.com and www.Jaguar.com to see the video in its entirety from next month onwards. The new XJ will hit showrooms in April next year.
DONT CREDIT JAY-Z FOR DISCOVERING THE JAGUAR XJ:
ReplyDeleteJay Leno to Introduce the 2011 Jaguar XJ In July 2009.
The long awaited 2011 Jaguar XJ is only one day away from its official launch, which will take place tomorrow in London. To give us yet another reason to keep an eye out for the XJ, Jaguar has announced today that the new Cat will be introduced to the world by none other than Jay Leno, who will join Mike O’Driscoll, Jaguar's managing director, at the Saatchi Gallery.
Alongside with this announcement, Jaguar has also let slip the first details regarding the car itself. According to the release and in line with what we already suspected, the XJ will be powered by the ultra-efficient third generation petrol and diesel engines, including the supercharged V6 diesel, which develops a whooping 510 hp.
Jaguar has also confirmed that the XJ will come in a choice of both standard and long wheelbase models. By their accounts, the new XJ "will introduce the highest standards of personal luxury and specification, including an innovative panoramic glass roof."
The other thing we know about the XJ, even if it may look of little significance, is the fact that it comes fitted with a Bowers&Wilkins sound system. Unfortunately, besides how great, how stunning and how unique the system is, no real details about the system (such as power, the number of speakers) have been disclosed.
We must say, Jaguar chose an interesting way of boosting interest for the new Jaguar. Even if they seem a bit outclassed by Bentley's 9 episode long teaser series for the upcoming Grand Bentley, we can't help but looking forward to seeing the full details of the 2011 Jaguar XJ tomorrow.
Jay-Z and his camp will see to it that this Jay Leno promoting the jaguar is pulled from the videostream of youtube.
ReplyDeleteOn Wednesday night, as part of the run-up to the LA Auto Show, Jaguar held a sizable soiree at SoCal's Milk Studios to show off its latest wares to the public and press, with a heavy focus on its 2011 XJ flagship.
ReplyDeleteWith the British automaker's latest model taking center stage, Mike O'Driscoll, Jaguar's managing director, discussed the finer points of the super saloon before announcing that rapper Jay Z will feature the XJ in his upcoming music video, "On to the Next One," a track from his new album The Blueprint 3. The 60-second trailer we saw didn't set our hearts on fire, but with Jaguar's renewed focus on "making Jaguar Jaguar again" and its push to appeal to a broader swath of the world's elite, the collaboration – although slightly awkward and mildly forced – could pay itself forward. It's just a shame about Jay Z's new logo being painted on the flanks of the luxury sedan.
