The New York DJ whose staged name was Roc Raida has died.
He was 37.
It's being reported that Roc Raida started DJ’ing at the age of 10. He was inspired by his father, who was a member of the Sugar Hill Records group "Mean Machine".
He was also a member of a turntablist group known as The X-Ecutioners.
A representative for the DJ has stated:
“The legendary Grand Master Roc Raida has passed away this morning...Family and friends will miss him dearly. Please give the family their privacy.”
