Rapper Common

Renowned poet Maya Angelou is at odds with the rapper Common. On the song "The Dreamer" from his newly released album "The Dreamer, The Believer", Maya recites a poem that she wrote and throughout the track, rapper common drops the N-word several times. After hearing this track, Maya made the following statement: "I’m surprised and disappointed. I don’t know why he chose to do that. I had never heard him use that [word] before. I admired him so because he wasn’t singing the line of least resistance." Click here for more.
