Despite rumors circulating around the internet that Mo'nique blew her chances of winning an Oscar, the comedian became the fifth black (African American) woman to win an Oscar. As she held back tears to accept the award, she thanked the academy, “for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics".

Immediately following her acceptance speech, the camera caught a glimpse of Samuel L. Jackson's reaction:

Juvenile

It's being reported that the rapper was arrested on Friday, February 26.

According to reports:

It was around 3pm when the police responded to a neighbors report of loud marijuana smoke coming from Juveniles home on Livingston Avenue in Arabi. When the police knocked on the door Juvenile's producer, Leroy Edwards answered the door and clouds of smoke met their faces. Edwards refused to allow the police to search the home. After obtaining a search warrant they later found a half ounce of marijuana in the kitchen.

Juvenile and Edwards was arrested and later released on bond.
